Insurance Rates for Cars – 8 Tips on How to Get Cheap Insurance Rates for Cars

Introduction

In the competitive world, there are many companies in the business of insurance causing people to be totally perplexed with their attractive features. There are few points to be taken into consideration before involving yourself with the insurance company as your motive should be to get lowest insurance rates with maximum benefits.

Guidelines to Have Lowest Insurance Rate

There are many schemes offered by the different insurance companies to attract customers towards themselves but these offers make you fickle minded therefore you should be fully acquainted with the latest scenario of the market and consider the following guidelines to tackle these companies according to your own way.

1.Your deductible amount is directly related to your insurance amount. Deductible amount is the first amount paid out of any claim. By showing the increased deductible amount you can easily lower the insurance cost.

2.Type of car used by you also decides the amount of the insurance cost. For example there are few models in the market which have high insurance cost because they are more likely to be stolen. Therefore, before buying a car you should be aware of the approximated insurance rates of the different models.

3.Your complete details like safety features of the car, marital status, etc. should be given to the insurance companies to grab maximum discount as deserved by you.

4.The mileage of your car also decides the insurance rate as both are directly proportional to each other. If the average mileage of the car is more then the insurance rate will also be high but if the average mileage is less then insurance rate will be low. To overcome this problem, you should try some other means of transportation like plane or train while traveling for long distances.

5.Use of antitheft systems like alarm, automatic interlocking, etc. will help a lot in reducing the insurance rate as their application decreases the chances of being stolen.

6.Driving carefully is also one of the major factors in reducing the insurance rate because if you have any history of speed fines or accident fines then the rate of insurance can hike up.

7.At the time of renewal of your policy, be careful as there are some points that can affect insurance cost. There may be some duplicate points that would have been eliminated but can help in getting discounts in rates.

8.There are different quotes for the switch drivers. If women are the drivers then the rate will be less but it is not same in the case of men, they will be charged high insurance rate.

Considering the above-mentioned guidelines and making yourself well acquainted with the clear picture of the insurance market, you can reduce the insurance rate of your car.

Cheap Auto Insurance – Get Cheap Insurance For Your Son

Has your son recently obtained his driver’s license? If it’s so, you should get affordable auto insurance for your boy. Car insurances vary in price so read on to find out how to purchase affordable car insurance for your teenage boy.

Since teenagers aren’t very experienced drivers, insurers consider them a big risk to insure. For this reason, the premiums are higher than those on adult insurances. However, there are some things that will help you reduce the rates that you pay for your son’s insurance.

First, you need to educate your son about how important it is to maintain a clean driving record. This means driving properly – no traffic violations, no speeding tickets and no accidents. In due time, your son will be awarded a lower premium due to safe driving.

The premium rates can also be reduced by buying insurance with larger deductible. The larger the deductible is, the smaller the premium is.

If you’ll be buying your son a new vehicle, make sure it has all the necessary safety features. Choose a vehicle that does not fall in a sports category. Always check the category in which your new drive falls.

But you must still be wondering how to get the affordable auto insurance for your son. The cost of insurance for teenage drivers is dramatically reduced by buying stand alone policy from agency that specializes in teen insurances. Stand alone policy means that the teenager will not be added as another driver on your insurance, but will have their own insurance.

Such insurance companies place certain restrictions on the teens’ driving habits in order to reduce the risk for insuring them. The teens may be required to go to a driving school or forbidden to drive after dark or any other such restrictions that will keep the premium lower for teenage drivers.

The stats for teenage drivers aren’t very impressive. 16-year old drivers are ten times more likely to have an accident than adults between the ages of 30 and 60. So there’s a good reason for the insurance companies to refrain from offering good rates.

It is best for you to educate the teenage drivers to take responsibility. They should earn your trust for the car use, and pay a portion of the insurance premiums. A good way to do this is by taking a part time job.

Now that your teenage son has found a new freedom, it is time for you to research affordable teenage insurance rates so you can get your boy on the road.

Cheap Insurance for a New Car

If you’re hoping to get cheap insurance for a new car, you need to take the following into consideration before you actually purchase the car.

Find out if your car is one that is often stolen. Many companies provide reports each year listing the “Top Most Stolen Vehicles” of that year. Regardless of how much you love that four-wheel drive beauty you have your eye on, if it’s on the list, it’s a risk. And if it’s a risk, you’re less likely to get cheap insurance for it.

Check out the safety features of the car. This means both inside and out, as well as for you, your passengers, and pedestrians. Inquire about the air bags and how effective they really are. Look at safety belts, and if you have children, make sure the car is equipped for child safety seats. You may also want to purchase a car that has child safety locks. Is the car top heavy and more likely to turn over on sharp curves? How does the car rate when it comes to front, rear, and side impact collisions? If your car proves safe for everyone in and around it, you’re more likely to get cheap insurance for it.

Plan prior to the purchase. Know exactly where you’re going to store the car. Do you live in the suburbs and have your own garage with a lockable door? Or is your only option to park the car on the side of the street? If you live in an apartment complex that rents or sells parking spaces, fork over the extra cash. If an insurance company knows your car is more likely to be safe when not in use, you’re that much closer to cheap insurance for your new car.

There are many factors considered when seeking cheap insurance for a new car; some are uncontrollable like your age. Those that can be controlled, however, should be.

Get a Cheap Insurance Quote Before You Buy Your Car

When you head to a car dealership and purchase a new car, you must have car insurance before you can drive your new car home. Sometimes car shoppers wait until they are at the car dealership before contacting their current car insurance companies about the new car. Sometimes, car shoppers who are shopping for their first cars – car shoppers who do not already have car insurance for another car – wait until the day of the purchase to buy a car insurance policy.

These methods are tricky. Neither gives the new car owner time to shop around for a cheap car insurance quote, and leaves the new car owner with few car insurance options.

If you are in the market for a new car the best method is to get a cheap insurance quote before buying your car, and you can do so by following these tips:

Choose your car before you actually buy it. There are several steps to this. First, decide what kind of car you want. Keep in mind a safe, reliable car with many safety features will get you a cheap insurance quote. Then, look at sales papers, taking note of the car dealerships in your area that sell the car you want. Finally, visit the car dealership just to introduce yourself and let a salesman know your intentions.

Contact your current car insurance company. Let them know you are in the process of purchasing a new car. Tell them the make, model, and year, as well as all safety features. Ask them if they can give you a new car insurance quote.

Contact other car insurance companies. If you do not have a current car insurance company, or you want a cheaper insurance quote than what your current company gave you, now is your chance to shop around. Talk to several car insurance companies to get a cheap insurance quote before you actually buy your car.

Car Cheap Insurance – Save Average of $750 Per Year

Car cheap insurance you can save 50% on the price of your automobile insurance and when taking into consideration the national average is $1576 per year, this comes to $750 savings per year. In some areas the amount you save will be more and in some areas it will be less.

I live in Florida and here the average auto insurance cost for residents is $1657.

I pay a total of $676.44 per year.

By applying all of the available discounts, I save $980.56 per year on the cost of my automobile insurance.

The price of insurance policies is based on several factors including your age, sex, occupation, education and what part of the country you live in. These are factors over which most people have little or no control.

There are factors however that you do have control over and you can make changes to save yourself money and buy cheaper insurance.

You can save money on your car insurance by following these steps.

5 Steps to save money.

1. Drive a four door sedan. I do, with a small 6 cylinder engine. Many people do not realize that the type of car you drive has a big affect on the price of your car insurance. If you drive a high-powered sports car that is worth a lot of money you will also pay a lot of money for your car insurance.

2. Safety features. I have these. If you have seat belts, which everyone is supposed to have, plus airbags and an antitheft device, this will have the affect of lowering the price on your car insurance.

3. Go with liability insurance only. I did this because my car is paid off. If your car is paid for you can easily get away with having just liability insurance on your car and this will further lower your rate by 20%. This is a national average savings of $315. I just did this myself.

4. Raise deductible. I did this. If you raise the deductible on your car insurance to $1000 per accident from $200 per accident the results will be a 40% reduction in your car insurance premiums. This is a national average savings of $630.

5. Do what I do and buy your automobile insurance from the same company that you buy your homeowners insurance from. This will save you 10% or a national average of 157.

You may also be able to include business insurance in this package if you own a small business and save even more money on all three. I sold my restaurant so this does not apply to me.

Car cheap insurance is not hard to find because you can save money, an average of $750 or more on your car insurance by taking advantage of the discounts that most car insurance companies will make available.

Looking For Car (Cheap) Insurance – Sports Cars Will Cost You Much More If You Don’t Do This

If you’re looking for car (cheap) insurance, sports cars of whatever make will cost you much more if you don’t know a few things. If you know and implement these things you can easily save as much as $2,000 on insuring your sports car. If you find it too hard to believe, read to the end to see if I’m wrong.

Little things do make a big difference. If someone says the following to you…

A: “Dive into the pool and then take a deep breathe.”

B: “Take a deep breathe and then dive into the pool.”

Would you get the same results? If you considered the two sentences above, you’ll observe that they have the exact same words rearranged to produce highly contrasting results. That’s the same thing with getting cheap car insurance for your sports car – A little rearrangement will greatly lower your rates.

Here are things that will make you pay far less on your sports car insurance…

1) Make sure you use it only when you can’t use the public transport system. The lower your mileage the lower the risk of insuring you and, therefore, the lower your rates.

2) Take a course in defensive driving. Being a defensive driver proves to an insurer that you’re less likely to be involved in a crash.

3) Make sure you maintain a great driving record. Avoid speed tickets. I know it’s a lot more difficult since you’re driving a sports car. But just do it. It will lower your rates.

4) Try not to make claims unless they are things you can’t handle easily. You could get a no claims bonus from your insurer. Some insurers may not give such bonuses. Ask when you’re about to get your car insurance policy.

5) Do your best to have a great security system installed in addition to safety features. This will reduce the likelihood of a theft and crash.

6) Always park your sports car in a garage and when you’re out, make sure it’s parked in a well-lit area. Thieving rats prefer dark spots. Parking in a garage protects it from flying balls, stones, tree branches and other things that could smash something and lead you to make a claim.

7) Get quotes from insurance brokers. Different insurers have different scores for the different factors used in calculating your premium. The difference for sports cars could be as high as $2,000 and more for certain profiles.

This means that by just visiting about three reputable quotes sites, obtaining and comparing quotes from them, you stand the chance of making savings of $2,000 on your sports car insurance. If you want it cheap, that’s the way to go.
